Subject: 14th Annual Why Women Cry Conference – April 22, 2019

We are currently seeking 200 volunteers for the 14th Annual Why Women Cry Conference.  Your assistance would be invaluable and greatly appreciated. 

Why Women Cry XIV Conference will be held Monday, April 22, 2019, at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel, 202 W. Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.  Our WWC Visionary Leader Rev. Debra Hickman, founder, and CEO of Sisters Together and Reaching (STAR), Inc. and Coalition cordially extend the invitation for you to participate in this event as a volunteer.

The entire conference experience is intentionally crafted to raise awareness on the increasing impact of HIV/AIDS transmission on Women and Girls and their intimate partners with holistic various health, economic, educational and behavioral health disparities in our African American/Minority communities. Since the inception of the conference in November of 2004, the conference has grown from 700 registrants to more than 2200 women annually, making it the largest free women’s HIV conference on the East Coast.  Each year registration and attendance has increased, reflecting the demonstrated importance of its continuation.

We are excited at the opportunity for you to assist the more than 2,000 women and girls and their partners who will join us at this year’s conference.  We have 3 shifts available (7 am-10 am, 10 am- 1 pm and 1 pm-4 pm), you may opt to work more than one shift if you so desire.  We also have several Volunteer positions available: Registration, Ballroom Monitor, Disability Aide, Senior Escort, Lunch Distribution, Lost and Found, Exhibitor Assistant, Evaluation Recovery, Wellness Village Aide, Moderators and Moderator Assistants for the various workshops that are in development for the Afternoon Panel 1and Afternoon Panel 2; we also have need for Hall Monitors on the 5th Floor and 6th Floor.
